The places shown in these series do no longer exist : these Industrial sheds, warehouses, houses that have been bought to be transformed, renovated or demolished within the purpose of architectural projects. The pictures of Dying places show their last moments, their last breathes, before mutation.
The fascination for those places comes from their paradoxal status during this transition. As well as objects of desire in the heart of a deal in the sales process, they are indifferent matters for their new owners. Clearly, they already do not exist anymore. The future has already overtaken the present. Market values and criterias step on History, memory and atmosphere.
Nevertheless, those constructions are still there, housing for a while the soul of their past. Left over, obsolete and unsold objects are ghosts of an ending life. They remain deeply and endlessly linked to the places they belong to.
